Holy Week

Bible Lessons

Maundy Thursday - 2nd April

7pm Maundy Thursday Liturgy

Commemorating the Last Supper, the foot washing, and the Garden of Gethsemane. We keep the vigil watch after, staying as long as you wish to, punctuated by readings, until 10pm. Whenever you leave, please leave in total silence.

Good Friday - 3rd April

9.45am meeting for the Good Friday walk at Royal House, Church St.

12.30pm (or after refreshments are finished) Good Friday Liturgy

This solemn service commemorates the crucifixion. In it, we receive communion blessed yesterday, we venerate the cross, and we leave in silence after, the full service of this holy time not finishing until Easter.

Holy Saturday - 4th April

 8pm The Easter Vigil.

When a service is after sunset, it counts liturgically as the next day. This is the earliest opportunity to celebrate the resurrection, in which we hear about God's saving deeds through history, starting in pitch darkness moving to light. Get ready to make a loud noise when we proclaim the resurrection!

Easter Day - 5th April

0.30am Easter Day Whole-parish Service

The great day arrives! We will, like the ancient church, be celebrating baptism and renewing our vows on this holy day - singing loudly and living into the truth that Christ is Risen, now and forever!
